Day 1
Male
Lying in the North Male Atoll, Himmafushi has a bustling main street that sells some of the most authentic and least expensive souvenir you will find anywhere else in the country. A lot of tourists buy sharks, rays and dolphins carved in rosewood. Head out into the back streets and the scenery changes. You will be faced with an old-world village and its cemetery with coral tombstones. There is a sandspit that connects Himmafushi to the previously separate Gaamaadhoo island. There are daily speedboats running from Male with atoll transfer.
Day 2
Dhigurah
Located in South Ari Atoll, Dhigurah is an atmospheric island that has a few hundred inhabitants and several guesthouses. The island is a long one with a breathtaking stretch of white sand that stretches to a massive sandbank. It has a bikini beach, a couple of souvenir shops and some very charming cafes on the main street. It is a great base for relaxing on the sand and opens up diving opportunities.
Day 3
Ukulhas
xtremely popular with backpackers, Ukulhas in the North Ari Atoll has some standalone hotels and guesthouses. You can take a direct speedboat from Male to this beautiful island that also has a breathtaking bikini beach on its southern side. Despite receiving a steady stream of visitors, the beaches are well-maintained, with the authorities adapting biodiversity and waste management programme.
